So there is some issue with changing the datasource programatically.Here's the button click event that was having an issue: I still don't know why your data is not being updated, but as far as the design is concerned, why not go with Grid View/Details View combination with two Sql Data Sources?As when I assign updated Name to Label1 it displays the old product name value and not the one in the textbox.But I can't see why it wouldn't be bringing back the new textbox values.For example, that first field in Details View has name Point and value 10.I get 0 values for Old Value and New Value in Item Updating event, even though i try to update any row.Sounds like a strange problem given that you're not getting any errors. I found that when I used a separate Details View that's permanently attached to the single-row data source everything works fine.
